The cost by taxi from the Airport to the Conference Hotel is about $30 plus tip. A good alternative option is the Airporter Bus which can drop you directly at the Sheraton Hotel for $13.75 one way, or $21.50 round trip. Taking the local bus requires transfers, so for this reason is not recommended, but should you feel adventurous use the Trip Planner to find local bus connections the day of your arrival.

Translink (Vancouver City Buses)
You must have exact coin fare. A trip within Vancouver (including UBC) costs $2.50. You can buy a book of 10 tickets for $19 from most convenience stores or drug stores (such as Mac's, 7-11, Shoppers Drug Mart, or London Drugs). The cost to get to the local mountains or to the airport by city bus from downtown Vancouver (or vice versa) is $3.75.
You can use your ticket for 1.5 hours in any direction of travel. When you put your coins into the machine on the bus, a ticket will pop out with the expiry time stamped on it - make sure you take the ticket with you!
At any bus stop in Vancouver, you can use your cell phone to send a text message containing the 5 digit bus stop number to the phone number "33333" and you will immediately receive a return message notifying you of the times the next 5 buses will arrive (including the bus numbers).
